The CartPops drawer showing a bundled product with its bundle items

Welcome to CartPops’ release notes! This month we’ve got a few exciting product updates for you.

New integrations

A lot of our customers use add-on, bundle, grouped or similar plugins to increase their bottom line, or because it’s simply a core plugin they need to sell their products. Up until now, CartPops did not have any dedicated integrations.

WooCommerce Product Bundles in the CartPops drawer

In June we added several integrations with the plugins listed below. That means we installed and tested these plugins, made them as compatible as possible and, where needed, added extra styling (see the screenshot above).

Let us know which other plugins you’d like us to integrate with.

Product Recommendation Engine improvements

Up until now, you could only recommend simple products in the Product Recommendation Engine. Since 1.4.7 you can recommend other product types too.

A variable product recommended in the drawer with a Select options button

If you recommend a variable product, for example, the add to cart button is replaced with a Select options button, in line with how WooCommerce handles this. In the future we plan to handle variable products (and other product types) directly in the drawer, instead of sending customers to the product page.

Language improvements

Since our first release, we’ve had a ton of requests to include languages directly in the plugin. At the end of May, we made it a priority to include at least six languages: Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

Want to learn more about languages, or add a new one? Check out the help doc on translating CartPops.

Add to cart animation

Also new in the latest version is the Floating Cart Launcher animation. This sleek animation shows that something is happening in the background. It’s a small update in preparation for the icon picker in the admin dashboard.

Other updates worth mentioning

  • We removed Swiper.js, which the Product Recommendation Engine used. The library caused a lot of conflicts with other plugins (Elementor, for instance). It also brought the total size of the assets down from about 160 KB to 31 KB.
  • We reworked the handling of AJAX fragments for upcoming features and better compatibility. Thanks to Diego from Aelia for helping out!
  • There’s a new option to hide the cart count on the Floating Cart Launcher when the cart is empty.
  • You can read the full changelog on WordPress.org.
